Pullstring’s conversation platform now supports Google Home

Designers and developers can now use Pullstring’s conversation platform to create “actions” for Google Home. Actions are the Google Home version of what Amazon’s Alexa calls “skills” — they’re essentially the voice-based equivalent of smartphone/tablet apps.

In its announcement, Pullstring says iHeartRadio used its platform to create a voice-based voting system that was used in the days before Sunday night’s iHeartRadio Music Awards. Google Home owners could cast votes for the Most Powerful Female Voice category by saying, “OK Google, start iHeartRadio Awards voting.” That command prompted an interactive audio experience in which the consumer would cast a vote by talking to the pre-recorded voice of awards show host Ryan Seacrest.

It was about three months ago that Pullstring said its conversation platform could be used to make skills for Amazon Alexa. So this recent announcement gives Pullstring a more complete platform for brands wanting to get in on the growing use of voice-based assistants.
