This is a weird one - according to Tim Capper in the Local Business Forums, official support representatives from the Google My Business team are telling those who had their businesses suspended on Google My Business to submit reconsideration requests in the Google Search Console.
Of course, to you and I, that makes no sense. The two products are separate.
To add, Tim said in the cases he looked into it, those customers had no manual actions in their Google Search Console notification center. In addition, we know you cannot submit a reconsideration request without having a manual action.
Here is what Tim said:
Users who have a suspended business page and have contacted business support are occasional getting the advise from business support, to submit their website for reconsideration.Which would imply that the website is under a manual Google penalty and they would have to rectify the issue and then make reconsideration request to have the penalty removed via Google search console.
Yet when I have asked the user to check their Search Console, there is no manual penalty showing.
I wonder if this is just a case of misunderstanding on the users end? I doubt Google would give this advice but what do I know.
Have you heard of this happening as well? If so, hopefully this post will get the word out to the Google team to put an end to this.
