Google Does Try To Reach Out Directly To Webmasters In Trouble

Google's John Mueller posted on Twitter A PSA that you should make sure your website contact forms work. He wrote "if you have a contact form on your website, not receiving any submissions isn't a good sign."

The reason is, he is trying to contact a website that has noindexed their site and it is unable to be indexed and ranked in Google. He said "I'm just trying to contact a site about a site-wide noindex."

Google has done this many times in the past, I suspect it is still part of their routine. It is good to see this happening because it is good to see Google doing one-on-one outreach, even when it doesn't work. It shows a huge effort on Google's part to help webmasters.

Of course, those sites that have broken contact us forms are probably not terribly worried about their search traffic. :)
